The Wabakimi Project

For those of you who were not able to join us for the last Winter Seminar on April 9th, but are still wondering what amazing trip you can do this summer, have a look at “Uncle” Phil Cotton’s website The Wabakimi Project.

Did you know that Wabakimi is the second biggest provincial park in Ontario and it is a true wilderness park. There are no roads and no designated campsites.

2013: Montreal Ice Canoe Challenge Saturday February 23

2012: The UNESCO World Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve is offering a fundraising tour.

Paddle the Arch: Charleston Lake on October 13, 2012 will invest all the profits from this event to improve the unique Frontenac Arch Paddling trails. Equipment is provided as well a feature Local Flavours lunch showcasing the best of seasonal foods.  The tour strives to enhance historical and ecological interpretation of the waters with guest speakers who can enrich the experience.

Paddlers Wanted! For the Voyageur Canoe Trip of a Lifetime!

Starting on Sept 5th from Victoria Island, at the foot of Parliament Hill on the beautiful Ottawa River, a team of intrepid paddlers will begin an epic 5 week journey to Washington DC. We will be paddling a 36 foot voyageur Canoe ('Canot du Maitre') with our camping gear and a very special payload: a dream of cleaner rivers and lakes where we can swim, fish and drink the water!
