YCCC White Water paddlers are out having a blast!

Outings have been on the area's white water rivers including: Salmon, Clyde, Mississippit, Petite Nation, Lower Madawaska, the Ottawa, and more. Water levels are lower, and more beginner friendly. There is lots of challenge available if you want it!

Dry suits or minimum of wetsuits plus carrying the hypothermia kits will be required for awhile yet. While the air is warm... the water is cold!

Kudo's to the generous YCCC paddlers who are getting our crew out and on the rivers on Saturdays and Sundays since March. Here we are a few months later having a great time, paddling hard, makin' the eddies, surfing......sharing lots of laughter and encouragement, providing safety support always... and of course icecream (pizza?) and stories afterwards to round out the day.

Yannick is once again out in the lead per most # of YCCC WW trips out! Sylvia is pestering more newbies to get out on the water.
Lynette and Laco continue to join in with tandem and/or solo boats - flexibility per getting us all out. Peter and Peter are getting more crews out..... the list goes on!

Kudo's also to Dan J - our ww coordinator - doing a great job as usual, providing guidance and encouraging involvement of many paddlers and trip leaders.

Kudo's to Jaclin and his incredible White Water Wednesday Instructor Team - putting 21 students through paces: stroke basics (always), fine tuning maneuvers, safety reminders, basic slalom, attainments... not to forget the relays,  'dead fish' and ''noodle' olympics!

WW Paddlers - if you've not been out yet this year - - - check out the calendar. Do watch for last minute postings each week as we check the water levels on the various rivers and assess what will be the 'good runs' for the weekend. Come paddle with us!

Watch out for postings on yccc facebook... eg. Thanks to Helen for posting this great video re: river rescue basics:
