MKC Open Canoe Slalom Race Series
SLALOM WW - Race Series - free&open to ALL!
This inclusive sport allows anyone to Paddle with the best - or just come to watch, learn (& drool)!
The first of the series of three Open Canoe Slalom races is June 26. This is a friendly informal and usually small, opportunity to test our gate running skills. It is run on the Madawaska in front of the Madawaska Kanu Centre and is free. We all take turns judging the limited amount of categories. No matter what your slalom experience this is a chance to see some of the best local talent and paddle with them.
I believe that Paul Mason will be setting the course. He usually designs it for success with a few challenges. If you camp the night before or show up early you can practice this section of the river. The water is dam controlled so it is turned on and off for the race.
The race starts at 1 p.m. and finishes at 3 p.m.
