2020 RACCC Camping Training: Advanced Navigation with Map and Compass
This training includes an evening Classroom AND Saturday Field Practicum Prerequisite: Map & Compass Essentials or equivalent.
Description:
• Review: Essential navigation, topographic maps and using a compass to follow a bearing. Avoid getting lost.
• Bring an orienteering compass if you have one. Some compasses will be available.
• This course is designed to reinforce your map and compass skills with a classroom session to review all the skills necessary for successful navigation through unmarked bush using a map and compass. The field practicum includes practical navigation skills in the morning and bushwhacking in the South March Highlands during the afternoon.

Field Practicum:
Date: Saturday, TBD Time: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Location: Kanata and South March Highlands (more information will be provided to participants)

Note: Certification participants have priority for this training. ( Paddle Canada Wilderness and Leadership)
