Paddle Canada Introduction to Tandem Lake Canoeing Certification courses 2022
Course description: For those with little or no canoeing experience OR who have canoed but without training who'd like to learn proper technique and solid basics of canoeing.
This two-day certification course introduces paddlers to tandem canoeing in calm water. It includes how to go forwards, backwards, sideways, stop, do pivots and turns, do a tandem rescue, transport a canoe, stay safe on the water and more. Successful participants will become more comfortable and feel more in control in a canoe under calm and stable weather conditions. RACCC canoes provided. Minors require a parent or guardian to be present throughout the course.

Prerequisites: Age 12 and up. and Participants should be comfortable swimming while wearing a PFD.

June 11/12. (Sat & Sun). 8:30 AM -5:30 PM
OR July 9/10. (Sat & Sun). 8:30 AM -5:30 PM
NOTE: The additional canoe rescue sessions for both June and July courses will be held either:
Tuesday, July 5th 6-8:30 at the RA outdoor pool (please arrive at 5:45 to be ready when the pool is available)
If there is a thunder storm and it is cancelled the alternate is Wednesday, July 6th location TBA Location to be determined
