Rules for Private Trips
Burritt's Rapids Paddle May 4
A club tradtion, the weather was warm and sunny for the Burritt's Rapids Paddle on the Rideau River. There was a good turnout and we had the river to ourselves. At Nicholson's Locks, we had lunch and walked up the canal to admire the upper lock and weirs. There were also a large number of turtles sunning themselves near the lunch spot. Guests
There is a charge for bringing a guest on club (or private trips). Registration forms must completed by guests and are provided as attachments to this article. These forms are available in the shed or at the East Desk.
Members are encouraged to bring guests on trips. It is a great way to introduce the RACCC to potential new members. A member may bring up to two guests on a RACCC trip or a private trip (with parental permission for children). Members are responsible for their guest's safety and conduct.
Any non-member in a club boat on a private trip must purchase a Guest Membership.
- Adult Evening and one day: 10.00$
- Adult Weekend (2-3 days): 15.00$
- Adult beyond a weekend: purchase annual club membership
- Junior Guest: $0.
An adult guest must:
- be at least 18 years or older;
- have purchased a RACCC guest membership for the trip; and
- have completed the guest registration form.

Thanks to Henry, the two Pauls plus Sylvia for giving an excellent introduction to the club and its equipment to 34 new members on April 26. "Read more" to see some photos. The attachment provides Paul H.'s speaking notes. If you missed this event, it will be repeated on Friday May 31.
Planning Drive to Put-In
New for 2013 is a Google map which allows one to plan the drive to the put-in for a flatwater trip. A similar map for whitewater trips has existed for several years.
CanoeBytes - how to post your Trip Stories!
CanoeBytes is our weekly email out to RACCC members! We hope you will post a trip story! here's how....
Happy trails to you,
While we are pleased to see many members renewing their club membership for 2013 and want to extend a big welcome to over 80 newcomers this spring, we are also saddened to see some old friends who will not be rejoining us this year. To members like Ed and Cindy (heading to the Yukon), Jessica (starting a family) and Marissa (who is off looking to start paddling with Paddle Canada in Winnipeg), and others, we say all the best in your new pursuits. It was fun knowing you all, you will be missed.
Constance Creek - First FW Paddle 2013
When I got up on Sunday April 14, it was raining and one degree. The trip leader Kathy sent out an e-mail saying that she would not blame us if we did not want to go. After a cup of coffee and a look at the weather radar, things did not look as bad so I squeezed into my wet suit and headed down to the RA.
