Shepherd's Pie

This meal is quick light and easy. It was a hit on my Woodland Caribou Park trip where I was mobbed for seconds and was forced to scape the pot clean.

Serves 2-4

1 pouch of Beef Mushroom Gravy

2 Pouches of instant potatoes

Bag 1

1 1/2 Cups of frozen corn - dried

2 Tbsp dried onion

1 1/2 Cups of frozen peas - dried

Some dried mushrooms

1 lb. of fresh hamburger -  cooked, rinsed and dried

  1. Rehydrate the contents of Bag 1 for at least an hour. I try to start after lunch.
  2. Make the potatoes as per recipe - you may need some powdered milk.
  3. Prepare the gravy as per recipe and add the strained hamburger, vegetables and simmer. Add water as required.
  4. Serve with the mashed potatoes by creating a crater in the mashed potatoes and filling it with the goodies!!.

Optionally, you could substitute TVP (Bulk Barn) for the hamburger but be sure to add it directly into the simmering stew. i.e. prepare a bag 2 for the TVP.
