2013 Call for Boathouse Volunteers!
As in previous years, we need your help to keep our Boathouse organized and our gear in good shape. If you've been on a trip with the RACCC, many of you will already be familiar with these volunteer duties. It is a pretty straightforward job, but it's crucial! The shift starts at the RACCC Boathouse from 6pm on your designated date(s). The duties consist generally of taking an inventory of the club gear and helping members book canoes for upcoming trips.

Last Call for Some WW Courses! Don't Get Left Behind!
We have spaces on some WW courses coming up that unless they are filled will result in courses being merged or cancelled:
- we have lots of space for novice/intermediates solo WW paddlers on the Paul Mason boofing course. This is not "huck off a waterfall", it is about learning to use rocks, holes and eddy lines as friends (May 26);
- we have lots of space for Beginner Solo on both weekends. Taking a solo course is a quick way to move your tandem paddling up a level, even if you have no plans to paddle solo.
Please drop me a line at training@raccc.ca if you decide to sign-up. I don't have real-time access to enrollments.

Warning -- Strainer in Upper Canyon, Petite Nation
There is a strainer completely blocking the river left channel at the island on the upper canyon of the PN. The trunk of a large tree is lying on top of the island. The top of the tree, branches and all, is blocking the left channel. There is no way to paddle or swim the left channel. The eddy on the right above the island is a must make move.
It is best not to run the upper canyon above the island for the time being. Put in at the kayak school and portage up to run the section below the island.
